STATUTORY DUTIES OF JUNIOR PERSONNEL AFFAIRS UNIT

The Deputy Registrar (Junior Personnel) is responsible to the Registrar for the day – to – day administration of the College especially as it affects Personnel Matters of the Junior Staff Cadre – CONTEDISS 02 – 05.

Related matters to be attended to include the following:

  • Responsible for providing personnel advisory services
  • Initiating and recommending policies bothering on personnel matters
  • Developing and maintaining procedure for recruitment of personnel in accordance with approved guidelines/directives.
  • Advising on and maintain staff welfare policies of the College
  • Set in motion and coordinate the machinery for staff Appointments, Promotions, Discipline and Development.
  • Dealing with matters relating to the conditions of service including interpretation of Government circulars as it affects staff.
  • Preparing information on staff matters/welfare/right and privileges.
  • Preparing preliminary budget estimates, plans and other logistics for the Registry.
  • Liaise with staff Union (NASU) on Labour related matters
  • Handling of student’s Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES)
  • Providing essential support services for Committees handling personnel related matters
  • Updating and maintaining staff records with regards to transfer of services, records of service, leave matters e.t.c.
